Our beautiful lazy week in text

Have you missed us?! Probably not if you follow along via IG/Twitter/Snap/FB :-)

I've been soaking up every second with my boys for the past week & dreading the moment it came to an end [today] Bleh. Adam has been home with us since Tuesday at 2pm! It has been the BEST 5 days ever. Mondays are the woooooorst because that means husby is back to bringing home the bacon. Blessed that he has a job to go to on Mondays, so I really can't complain. There are so many, especially in our area that don't have jobs and have no way to provide for their families. My heart hurts so much for them. Even more so around the holidays. Could you imagine? Count your lucky stars if you can put food on your table, provide your babies with warm clothing & have extra spending money. It's easy to take small things for granted and I struggle daily with appreciating the little stuff.
WE ARE BLESSED.

I hope you had an amazingly full Thanksgiving and got to spend quality time with your family! One of my most favorite holidays, by far. It's so underrated. Everyone seems to skip right over it and straight to Christmas after Halloween. I have really tried to hold off on all Christmas decor this year until after Thanksgiving and I have to say I HAVE SUCCEEDED. No tree (except Marleys in her room), no decorations, no lights, nothing. Nada. Zilch. Though it is now 4 days after I must say I am in the holiday spirit. Bring on the tree {coming this weekend-wahoo}, garland, Christmas tunes, decking the hall. Who doesn't love CHRISTMAS!!!

I left off on Monday last week, so let's pick up with Tuesday. I will call it TUESDAY FUNDAY because I got to visit with my parents for a bit AND get my hair done. I'm almost positive I get my hair done more than any human should . . . if your hair girl was as amazing as mine, you would understand. Seriously, she is t h e b o m b.  Let me just show you:
RIGHT?! I told you. Bomb diggity. Let me know if you're in the area & want the deets on her name/location. So worth it, I don't care if you're 5 hours away. I just love love love her and her greatness.

While at the salon, I got a pedi+mani as well. BOOM. Pamper day for momma! Yes, it was as great as it sounds.

I'm a sucker for a gorg day when I'm on the road/at mom and dads & Tuesday was nothing less.
It was such a great day all around!  & I promised myself to stay away from the salon for AT LEAST a month. At least.

A little photo dump of the rest of that day ----
Major thinks he's a big boy or somethin' always wanting to sit up like this and watch tv in his crib. Lay back down boy.

Is it sad this is the only picture I got of Maddux. All day. ??? Haha! Booger won't sit still long enough, and some days, when I get my phone out to snap a pic he will run from me yelling no. Soooooo, here's the one I did take. He's starting this realllllly cool thing now where he refuses to nap all day long and then passes out when he eats dinner. It's so so cool and fun. (((only not really)))
Perfect depiction of mom life.
If you're a mom, you know the struggle. Most days I do have to hand it to Adam, I am able to take a long, hot, relaxing bath - but others - look a lot like this. I'm not even mad! He's such a little ham. I want to squeeze every little roll on his tiny body right this very second just looking at these. He and his brother are my little water dogs. They love it!

WEDNESDAY:
We had a little family dinner at my SIL with the boys, Adams parents, his sister, her husband & kiddos. It was delish and we had a good time! I managed to get no pictures at all while we were there. But we did get a couple on the way. A couple is better than none, right?
Handsome-shmandsome.
ANOTHER beautiful day it was indeed.

We got home late that night and was ready to pass out by the time we got through the door. Food coma.

T H U R S D A Y ~ T H A N K S G I V I N G
Adam woke up earlier than the rest of us to get the turkey ready to hit the oven. He has his special seasoning/injection perfected and it is the most delicious, moist turkey you will ever put in your mouth. Guaranteed. We decided to do a small turkey breast this year since it would just be us eating it. Best decision ever! We still had a ton of leftovers. I'm thinking turkey soup with what's remaining. Yum! BUT, You can't have Thanksgiving dinner without the sides, and those are my specialty.
Not pictured: Deviled eggs and cranberry sauce.

Looking at this picture makes my mouth water! It was one of the best meals we've cooked yet.

I had a proud daughter moment --- I FINALLY mastered my moms homemade buttermilk biscuits. After 4 years, I did it. Obviously I sent her the picture. They still weren't as good as hers. But nothing ever is ;) Another batch is in order asap. They. Were. Yummy. Adam was pretty stoked too. These are his fav! Thanks mom!

We were so lazy before/after dinner and I loved every minute of it. We played with the boys and watched football.......allllll dayyyyy. If that doesn't sound like the best day ever, I don't know what does. Check this guy out - mid yawn ^
My lifeline.
Thankful is an understatement

So - funny little story behind this picture and the next - I grabbed my phone to get a quick pic with Adam and had no idea Maddux was even listening. Well. He hopped up and said "CHEEEEEESE"
.....and it turned out kind of perfect <3 I love these 2 so much it hurts.

The rest of our night consisted of  baths + playing / the norm
THIS...........IS REAL LIFE hahahahahahahahaha

Are you thinking, "Gosh she sure takes a lot more pictures of Major than she does Maddux." Because I literally think the same thing every single day. Major is A LOT easier to photograph these days, than my other wildcat. When he is Maddux's age, I probably won't have any pictures except selfies. Of myself. LOL

So, Thursday night while everyone was fighting the crowds praying and hoping they got that very last $200 50 inch television, I was sitting at my kitchen table in my sweats browsing online, completing my Christmas list for the kids. That's right. Didn't even have to put makeup on or leave the comfort of my own home. It was glorious. I got Marley's list finished.......and if you're wondering what it mostly consisted of - SHOPKINS. Tons and tons and tons of Shopkins/Shopkin backpacks/Shopkin outfits. Her newest obsession! It's nice though, because she was fairly easy to shop for this year. I got Maddux's almost finished & Major's started + a LOT of extra (ha!) I cannot pass up a good deal and "Black Friday" had some good ones. Justice, Zara, Gap and ToysRUs took all of our money that night and I will leave this here, because I couldn't have said it more perfectly myself ...........................
..........can I get an amen?

I feel like I have shopped for 18 days straight. I even have the bank account to show for it.

Friday, we had our niece and nephews here. We played outside most of the day and again, I got no pictures. But believe me when I say it was another great day. Maddux always loves playing with those 3. The only picture I got on Friday was of my sleeping prince. I melt when I see a sweet snoozing baby! Too presh.

Saturday - - - We debated all morning whether or not we really wanted to put real clothes on and venture out somewhere & finally decided we would. We left the boys with aunt Cookie (Crystal - Adams sister) and made our way to the Cabell Midland HS Playoff game. We've been wanting to watch them all season & this was the perfect opportunity because, well, it was a playoff game and the opponent was another awesome team. We are a football family! We love the game at every level and cannot wait for our boys to start playing in the years to come. Midland got beat, but it was still a really good game to see. Even in the pouring rain. I was FROZE.
Also, our most favorite team played that day { AND WON } Let's goooooooooo Mountaineers!

After we picked the kids up we were ready to g e t home. Our butts and shoes were dripping wet and I am not ashamed to say I was ready to get back and put my sweats on. If you wear jeans when you're just lounging at your own house....you are crazy. Give me some sweats all day and I am totally content. I can't be the only one? C'mon.

We grabbed some Evaroni's & Rocky Top breadsticks for dinner. Our favorites. I posted about them once before, sooooo so so so so sooooo good. I could eat those breadsticks all day every day for the rest of my life.

Hot cocoa was in order Saturday night! Cocoa date for 1 please. (Adam didn't join in on the cocoa fun) So delish. All I could think about was Marley and her love for hot chocolate. The child would drink it with every meal. I truly can't even blame her. This teeny chalkboard too - obsessed - I love it SO much that I have a little project in store for Mr. Perry in the upcoming days. Stay tuned for that, I'll put it all on the blog.

Saturday was ALSO *SHOP SMALL SATURDAY*, so naturally I had to support all of the small momma shops that I love so much & they had some amaaaazing sales. The little bit of money we did have remaining, is now gone. I told you I feel like I've been shopping for 18 days! I got so many goodies & a lot of them I can't even remember. I just couldn't stop clicking add to cart. But that's okay, because it will be even better when something comes. Like Christmas every day the month of December! "Ohhhhh look! A package! I wonder what it could be!" That will be me. How exciting is that?!
I'm sorry that I'm not sorry Adam.
I'm kidding.
I love you.
;)
Good morning Sunday!
We did donuts for breakfast. Quick & easy.
I also went through Starbucks for my venti iced white choc mocha + an extra shot.
It was raining, yet again, and SO cold. I didn't leave the house after that morning coffee\donut run.
There are not enough eye rolls for this raaaaiiiiinnnnnnn. Ugh.

Adam took Maddux on a few errands Sunday evening, but other than that we were the laziest humans on earth. I made lunch & dinner. We swept, picked up and I did some laundry. Those are my favorite days! The really "lazy" ones where your only obligation is to clean a little. Ahhhh. I am living the dream...no sarcasm. I really am.

Are any of you mommas doing BLW? If you aren't familiar and have a teeny babe, google it. We did it with Maddux and the same with Major! These boys love their food. I mean check out those baby boobies on this kid. It is no surprise that spaghetti is one of his fav meals because Maddux could eat it for breakfast. We call him our carb boy - he loves his bread and pasta. So far, so good with the BLW process with Major. He does well picking bits up and chewing. Let's hope it continues! No food allergies yet that we are aware of either, thank goodness. I'm a big BLW advocate, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! I have a ton of meal ideas & what we did for the boys then/now. So worth doing in my opinion. I think it's great to introduce them to different foods with different textures early on and they say it prevents them from being a picky eater. Maddux will eat anything! So, I believe that.
Sunday came to a close faster than anticipated and the anxiety of Monday was creeping up. Maddux was out like a light by 8:30. That's what happens when you refuse to nap all day long. Major had his bottle at 9 & he laid down for the night. Adam and I stayed up a while longer and finally went to bed around 11. Maddux and I woke up at 9am and for that, I am thankful. Major slept until 10! Not sure what's going on there, but woohoo! He's usually my early riser, waking around 7:30 when Adam leaves for work.

I plan to make a post office run later today & swing by Starbs because you get EIGHT BONUS STARS if you spend $15 today. You're welcome! Not that I needed another excuse to get more coffee, but I may also need to get a cup I've had my eye on for a while . . .

Thanks for reading & hope you enjoyed! xo

Just another Monday

Monday, not-fun-day already? Ugh.
Let me tell you a little how our Monday is going, thus far. We froze all night long & didn't even think to get up to check our thermostat, only to wake up this morning at 6:50 to see that it was 60 DEGREES in our house. Yes. 60 degrees. I cannot do cold! Or hot for that matter, but especially not cold. Brrrrrrrrrrr

I just wanted to stay cuddled in bed with Adam and Maddux, but mom duty called & we had to get our girl up and ready for school. So I threw on my coziest robe and fuzziest socks and into her room I went to begin the morning wake-up. She really isn't too bad to get up (yet) so that's never bad. I got her changed and fixed her some oatmeal. While she ate I fixed her hair and afterwards we brushed teeth and had a second to sit down before leaving at 7:30.
She didn't even care that the house was a million degrees colder than I wanted. How is it that kids really could care less about the temperature. You couldn't have PAID me to change my clothes this morning, because that required taking them all off and exposing my semi-warm body to the negative temp. I am serious when I say I DO NOT DO COLD. NO. NO. NO.

[sn: this girl is her dad made over. Seriously. Adam Perry jr.]

She did care that it was cold outside. 19 degrees cold. This is ridiculous! I will never complain about the summer heat ever again. I say that every year. How gorgeous is our Marley though? Even in all of her cold smile glory. I just love her.

After I got home from the school trek, Adam had the boys all bundled and playing & had already called the company to come check out the heat unit. Noon could not have came any s l o w e r. It felt like an eternity & I was almost ready to leave and take the boys anywhere but this freezing house. Even if we just sat in the car. The final temperature was 56 when they showed up around 11:30 and low and behold our heat was FIXED
Thank goodness.
I took off the layers of clothes on the boys and could finally sit down and drink my iced white choc mocha I grabbed at Starbucks this morning. Ironic isn't it. Why did I get iced when I was so cold you may ask? I am no fan of hot coffee. I will drink it on occasion, but only at home, I'll never get it hot at 'bucks.

Adam came home while they were fixing the heat, so we all ate lunch together and decided right then that we would never take advantage of heat ever again. Haha! Maddux has been doing this and that since, and Major went down for his mid-day nap around 12:30 so momma gets a free minute to start this post. It is guaranteed I will not finish in one sitting, but at least it's a start. The rest of the day shouldn't be too bad. Maddux will be napping soon and we will have leftover sausage tortellini for dinner while watching Jurassic World this evening. It's funny that I'm saying we are going to watch it this evening because we have been saying that since we got the DVD. A month ago. We say we are going to watch it every single day. Every day. It won't happen.

Our weekends begin on Thursday (when we get Marley), so that is where I'll be starting the photo dump & a little about what we did on each day. Once again, we didn't do anything too crazy, but staying in and relaxing on weekends is one of our most favorite things to do on the planet. We enjoy the time we get to spend together and with the kids; playing in the floor, watching a movie, or making a craft. This weekend we did just that...plus some.
Thursday was absolutely gorgeous, so waiting in the pick-up line to get Marley wasn't half bad. I have tried to figure out what time I need to get there in order to be first in line since day 1. I thought for sure Thursday would be the day. Nope. I got there 40 minutes before release & I was still 4th in line! Not too shabby, but one day, I will be first. I made sure to grab Maddux and I some lunch to eat while waiting on sis because I just knew that there was no nap in sight that evening. USUALLY I leave home at 1:50 and both boys nap the whole way to school and through the pick-up line wait, waking when Marley gets in the car at 2:40. Major did just that, but that entire day Maddux was so full of energy and as stubborn as they come, so instead of begging him to nap I took food and Finding Nemo to keep him occupied. He's easily pleased! Ha!  To have had no nap, he was in a great mood and we had so much fun in the car dancing, singing, being silly & taking pictures.
If this isn't the life, I don't know what is.

We got home from school at 3:15 which gives us just enough time to change for gymnastics at 4. I just took Maddux with me this time (Adam usually keeps both boys) & we went to Sams while M was tumbling. As soon as I picked her up at 5 we went to pick up my glasses that I have been waiting on for 2+ weeks. YAY!
Who doesn't love new Ray Bans? LOVE.
(ps. To see more of us - add me on snapchat: shamberperry)

After we got home from gymnastics & getting my glasses we had dinner, played, bathed, brushed teeth & off to bed we went! 6:50a comes early.

I take picture(s) every morning before we take Marley to school to look back on throughout the years. I never miss a morning, so Friday was no exception. Here's our bi-weekly pre-leaving for school picture in the bathroom! I love seeing how big she has grown throughout a school year and plan to make a little somethin' with each one I've taken at the end of her kindergarten year. She's growing so fast, we don't even want to blink. As I said above, she is so easy to get out of bed and ready for school. Literally does not mind it at all! I'm taking in every second of her perky morning smiles and laughs because I know too soon it will be: "School? Ugh. Can I just stay home." It happens to the best of us.
I love fixing this girls hair when we have her. Playing around with it and finding new styles that work for her, while keeping it out of her face. FAV.  Sure, it ends up half up/half down, strings of hair popping out in every direction by the end of the day. But that is why I document as soon as I fix it ;) Finding cute ways to style her hair became a lot more challenging when she decided she was too big for bows - which was quite a few months ago - I let her tell me what she wants to wear and how she would like her hair, and as soon as she asked me to please not put a bow in, I listened. It's another little reminder that she's growing up and I can live with that because in the process she's learning that she has a voice and what she wants matters

We didn't do anything after Marley went to school Friday morning & we were back to our usual routine for pick-up...(napsssss)

That evening after we finished dinner, Marley & I headed out to Hobby Lobby {one of OUR FAVORITE PLACES ever} to get decorations for her Christmas tree! She was so excited to do a big tree in her room this year and pick out everything that went on it.
She said this was her excited smile. Bahaha - this girl.
Also, the cat pants. I am almost ready to invest in 18 more of the same ones because they are her go-to and what she picks out to wear everytime. Sometimes alone, sometimes with a skirt over them. You never know how she will pair them with a shirt! Good idea?

After we left Hob-lob it was time to get her treat for doing so well in school the last 2 weeks - we do this every weekend we get her, as long as she gets good reports in school and no trouble. So what does she choose? SHOPKINS. Every other weekend. Shopkins. Her collection is sure growing. Is your child as obsessed as ours? We don't even know how to play with them. What can you do? Nothing, but she loves and I mean LOVES them.
She ended up getting "NETTY SPAGHETTI" & was so stoked because that was "daddy's favorite" (yes, she makes us all pick a fav-including Maddux&Major) I asked her 3 times on the way home what it's name was & she told me. NETTY PSKETTY! I l o v e it. PSKETTY. Do you remember how you said spaghetti as a child? That's exactly how I used to say/spell it. Hahahaha! This girl.

When we got home that night she had just enough time to fight with Maddux over touching her Shopkins, get a bath and play with them.

~ FINALLY, SATURDAY HAS ARRIVED ~

What is sleeping in on weekends? Someone please tell me, because we get up at 8am no matter what day it is. These kids don't know they're allowed to sleep until noon if they wanted. Who am I kidding...even when they do sleep in (by sleep in I mean until 9 LATEST) Adam & I are still up at sunrise.

Marley couldn't wait to start decorating her tree, so we had breakfast and patiently waited for daddy to get it out of the garage.

Once the tree was in, she got started.

This is the only picture I got of Maddux all day Saturday, if you notice him being absent. Some days he just isn't in the photo mood & you get what you get. Like this blur for instance.

I put off grocery shopping until Saturday. Dumbest idea ever. The stores were packed with everyone getting last minute food for Thanksgiving & getting down 1 aisle took 10 minutes. BUT we managed & made it back with lots of food in hand.

The rest of the day was full of laziness, ahhh.

SUNDAY:

The Christmas tree decorating continued all day long for M. Mainly because she is a little perfectionist JUST LIKE HER DAD, but some of the reason was because she has a bratty little snotty nosed brother who goes behind her and takes off everything she puts on. I'm allowed to call him that, because he's mine ;) & it's partly true hahahaha
I may or may not have bribed him for this picture. Marley is photo ready every day / all day. That's my girl.

CHEESY HOT ITALIAN SAUSAGE TORTELLINI was what we had for dinner Sunday evening and it is sooooooooooo good. If you're interested in the recipe, let me know & I'll share! So easy and one of our weekly go to meals. Yum.

M wanted HOT CHOCOLATE for dessert & it was delish. S/O to dad for grabbing a box + marshmallows earlier that day on his little store run & surprising us (I forgot to get it when I went. Oops!)

Sadly, Sunday came to a close way too soon and we were left wondering where the weekend went. Blah.
Who doesn't love a chubby bubby in a footed sleeper? I know I do. I want to pinch his cheeks.
Who also doesn't love a freshly bathed baby slathered in lavender lotion? We all do.

Bros bro-ing in their matching Christmas jammies. Yes. That happened & will continue until they make me stop. My heart may burst.
You're welcome for the cuteness overload.

Hope you enjoyed reading! XO
